Some of the topics our data scientists have been working on over the past year include:

  • Use of machine learning algorithms for predictive maintenance
  • Building forecasting models to predict the optimal price and stocks
  • Developing a control channel and an accompanying dashboard to provide insight into financial processes
  • Automatic customer screening by combining internal and external data sources
  • Process mining

You are responsible for

  • Guide a diverse group of customers on their data journey and in their digital transformation;
  • Together with the customer’s domain experts get to the bottom of the problem in order to arrive at the best solution;
  • Build working data science solutions instead of delivering reports;
  • Apply algorithms to practical problems to create value and optimize processes;
  • Researching and implementing cutting-edge machine learning algorithms;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to code, train, and deploy production-ready algorithms;
  • Provide training to transfer the developed data science solution to the end-users;
  • Help to determine the direction of machine learning and artificial intelligence within Bright Cape

You are

You have

  • Completed technical academic degree, preferably Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, or a related field;
  • Programming experience in one or more scripting languages: e.g. Python, R;
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence, (un)supervised learning, and/or computer vision;
  • Experience with Git and version control;
  • Knowledge of the mathematics behind machine learning models and also the ability to explain these complex matters in a simple way;
  • An entrepreneur with a commercial attitude;
  • Project management skills;
  • Someone who quickly masters new processes and complex subjects;
  • Speaking Dutch is a very strong preference
  • Drive to learn more

It is a bonus if you have:

  • Experience with querying languages like SQL;
  • Experience with cloud computing (Microsoft Azure, AWS);
  • Experience with deploying and maintaining data science solutions in production
  • Knowledge of process mining
